Dr. Gonzalez was born in Los Angeles, California. She attended Harvard College and graduated with honors with a degree in Biology. She graduated from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine in 1990 and completed her family practice residency in 1993. Dr. Gonzalez' first medical community was in San Antonio, Texas. Although not a native of San Antonio, she volunteered for such organizations as the St. Vincent DePaul Community Clinic and the Big Brother/Big Sister organization. During her last year in Texas she was the Medical Director for Urgent Care Services for the Methodist Hospital system.She relocated to the Pacific Northwest in 1996. She has been an employed physician for Valley Medical Center Primary Care Clinics and Pacific Medical Center in Renton. Working in these large groups she was a strong advocate for Quality Improvement. Her practice was a pilot site in the Washington State Diabetes Collaborative.
Dr. Gonzalez has a special interest in the the prevention as well as treatment of chronic conditions such as Diabetes and Cardiovascular disease. Since 2007, she has maintained NCQA recognition for Diabetes Management. Dr. Gonzalez values the partnership with her patients and strives to motivate those living with chronic illnesses by teaching them self-care practices that can help them live healthier lives. Dr. Gonzalez is a certified Firstline Therapy Practitioner. Dr. Gonzalez is pursuing further education in the field of Functional Medicine.
Dr Gonzalez enjoys caring for pediatric patients and has a special interest in adolescent medicine. The practice sees newborns and participates in the Washington State Vaccines for Children Program.
Dr. Gonzalez' goal is to create an experience of care for each patient that is individualized and personal. Same-day appointment availability and patient flow that respects the patient's needs are hallmarks of her practice.
Dr. Gonzalez is an avid reader and enjoys travelling and music. She is strongly committed to promoting the health of her patients by example as she enjoys exercise and cooking for family and friends.
